There are multiple Scissormen and even Scissorwomen in the series. They are terrifying, and sometimes invincible and invulnerable, serial killers who pursue the main character. According to the Japanese novelization of Clock Tower , the Scissorman was regarded as the "Son of the Great Father " in the demonic cult followed by Theodore Barrows , an ancestor of the Barrows Family.
He is the brother of the Jemima scissors and shares the same entity with her. He is subordinate to Dick Hamilton. Ralph's exact origins are unknown, although his memo suggests that he and his sister were either caught on the battlefield by the Burroughs or were brought in from the East. They showed a fascination for disemboweling and dismembering their victims while they were still alive, especially with blades or scissors. During the tumult of Darcy Burroughs , the Scissor Twins serve as their executioners. A memo from one of Burroughs' employers states that he was forced to kill ten villagers in the first week and twenty in the following week, under orders from Ralph and Jemima. After Lord Burroughs was finally captured and executed, they were stoned to death by the crowds, but were resurrected as Subordinates and continued to wreak havoc in the world as a single Entity.
